Direct communication keeps your projects moving fast. We have an inbuilt Chat System that allows you to message your assigned Editor or Relationship Manager directly for general discussions.

Here is how to use the chat system and when to use it instead of leaving comments on a video.

1. Accessing the Chat

To start a conversation, click on the Chat tab in the left-hand sidebar.

  • Your Inbox: This opens the "Messages" panel, where you can see all ongoing threads with your team.

  • One-on-One: You will typically have a direct line to your Assigned Doer (Editor) or Relationship Manager.

2. When to Use the Chat

Use the Chat for "big picture" questions or operational updates that aren't about a specific timestamp in a video.

✅ Use Chat for:

  • Status Updates: "Hey, just checking if the podcast edit is on track for tomorrow?"

  • Workflow Changes: "I’m going on vacation next week, so I’ll pause requests for a bit."

  • New Instructions: "For the next batch of videos, can we try a different font style?"

  • Urgency: "I just submitted a 'Rush' request—please prioritize that one over the vlog."

❌ Do NOT Use Chat for:

  • Specific Edits: If you want to say "Cut the video at 0:45" or "Change the text color," please do not use the chat. Instead, open the video in the Workspace and use the Review Tool to leave time-stamped comments directly on the timeline. This ensures the editor knows exactly where the change is needed.

3. Sending a Message

  1. Click Chat in the sidebar.

  2. Select the conversation with your Editor (e.g., "Ava").

  3. Type your message in the box and hit send.

  4. Notifications: Your editor will receive an alert, and you will see their reply pop up in this same thread.
